New sanctions have been placed on two people within the North Korean government and that is according to the announcement made by the U.S. Department of the Treasury. Reports have it that both are iconic figures within Kim Jong Un’s ballistic weapons development program and that leaves behind pretty much to be speculated about.

Kim Jong Sik and Ri Pyong Chol have been blacklisted and that implies that all the assets they have at the moment in the U.S. will be frozen with immediate effect. NPR’s David Welna   in his recent statement outlined that it was not yet clear whether or not the two had any assets in the U.S. One thing that is coming to the limelight is the fact that in general Americans are going to be prohibited from undertaking any business activities with them.

A person familiar with the matter said, “Kim Jong Sik reportedly is a key figure in North Korea’s ballistic missile development, including efforts to switch from liquid to solid fuel. Ri Pyong Chol is reported to be a key official involved in North Korea’s intercontinental ballistic missile development.”

There are numerous grounds for anyone to purport that the two might have been agents of the Korean leader. In numerous instances the two have been spotted in photos of Kim Jong during those moments he watches the missile tests. One thing that has been rather notable is the fact that the two keep on smiling and congratulating each other.

It has been disclosed that Ri is a former air force general who has gotten the opportunity to be a major player in the North Korea’s ruling Workers’ Party. On the other hand, Kim Jong Sik happens to be a rocket scientist who is believed to have started his career serving as a civilian aeronautics technician. Matters seem to be changing pretty fast and recently he has been spotted uncountable times wearing the uniform of a military general.

This is just one of the many times persons in Kim Jong Un’s government have been subjected to sanctions. The Obama administration proceeded to place sanctions on Kim Jong Un himself and the reason given behind that was human rights violations.
