Delhi: India’s 69th Independence Day celebration will witness the hoisting of tricolour on Saturday at the Red Fort by Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi.
This will be his second time when he will be addressing the nation as PM on 15th August under high security arrangements.
Recent terror attacks have posed a threat in New Delhi, due to which security officials will not take any chance this time. So Modi will stand behind a bullet-proof shield and deliver his speech.

According to reports, this year Prime minister’s Independence Day speech is expected to include several schemes of his government like universal health insurance plan and several rural schemes.
Implementation of One Rank, One pension (OROP) scheme for ex-servicemen is also on the cards. Last year also,
PM chose this same day to announce several schemes like Make in India, Swacch Bharat Abhiyan, Jan Dhan Yojana, and Adarsh Gram Yojana.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is no stranger to crowdsourcing, regularly encouraging Indians to submit their thoughts for his monthly radio show “Mann ki Baat”.
But this time, on 26th July, he asked people to send their suggestions on the topics he should include in his Independence Day speech.

There were over 12,000 suggestions from citizens on Mygov.in. People wanted him to talk on various matters like clean Ganga, Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao.
