The 2018 Winter Olympic Games was a huge event that brought together several world leaders. Some of the major figures present included Vice President Mike Pence, Kim Jong UN’s sister not forgetting the large number of guests that had converged to witness the historic event.

It was on Feb. 9 that the games started in Pyeongchang and it was the main subject of talk in Korea. It goes without saying that cheering the athletes was the common goal. However, it is also crucial to point out that some of the Olympic guests saw it as the perfect opportunity to move on and engage in diplomatic talks.

The U.S. delegation was led by Vice President Pence and second lady Karen Pence and everyone was optimistic that the Winter Olympics would be an experience to remember. Some analysts took the strong standpoint that indeed the attendance of Pence signified a strong U.S. presence on the Korean Peninsula.

One White House official while speaking to several journalists ahead of the trip said that the presence of the top government official had much to do with sending out a concise message. It was regarding the “American resolve” to the North Korean regime.

Reports indicate that the vice president had plans underway to hold secret meeting with several North Korean officials in the course of the gaming though the North resolved to cancel at the last minute as was disclosed by the chief of staff working under Pence.

He went ahead to disclose that the reason as to why the meeting was cancelled was because Pence wouldn’t be doing anything to soften the message he wanted to deliver. As the ceremony started off, Pence was spotted sitting pretty close to the North Korean delegation members including Kim Yo Jong and the sister to Kim Jong.

Ivanka, who happens to be Trump’s daughter, has at the time been working as an unpaid advisor and he was seen spearheading the U.S. delegation to the closing ceremony. A short while after arrival, Trump updated his Twitter account asserting that her daughter had returned home safely.

According to the U.S leader, the country couldn’t have been represented any better than the way Ivan did. Trump sees his daughter as a brilliant person with all it takes to represent there company the best way possible.

After her arrival Ivanka proceeded to make her statement and of course that was specifically at the Incheon International Airport.

She opined, “It’s a great honor to be here in South Korea with the U.S. delegation. We are very pleased to attend the 2018 Winter Olympic games to cheer for team USA and to reaffirm our strong and enduring commitment with the persons of the Republic of Korea.”

She delved deeper into the matter to say that they were happy about arriving in one piece and being there safe and sound. And that they enjoyed everything about the games. It was after sometime that she took the initiative to tweet to showcase her gratitude in which case she talked quite highly about President Moon Jae-in as well as the first lady Kim Jung-sook. According to her, their hosts were hospitable and organized a very special dinner at the historic Blue House as a welcome gesture for their visit to South Korea.

Other reports also indicate that Fred Warmbier was part of those that attended the Olympic Games but was there as a guest of Vice President Mike Pence. He is the father to Otto Warmbier who was an American college student who lost his life in North Korea during his imprisonment.
