Apple is one of those companies that are always willing to do all within their means to reach their set goals. The latest company’s development was about its decision to start selling an iPhone dongle with a charging port and a headphone jack.

It was in November that Belkin made an announcement about the unveiling of a Rockstar adaptor which included a lighting port and a 3.5mm jack. The version that was launched last year comprised of some two lightening ports. Anyone with the need of using the wired headphones with it was compelled to plug Apple’s own headphone dongle into another dongle.

Apple and Belkin are selling the plastic adapter at $34.95.That is $5 cheaper in relation to the Lightning-only model. The original product has received much criticism with quite a large number of people discrediting its reliability index. The other disadvantage is that it is quite incompatible with the iPhone battery case by Apple.

The adaptor functions properly allowing the user to charge the iPhone while at the same time listening to music through headphones. There will be no double-dongling with this adapter and that might startle all those users who were used to the version with two Lightning ports. Asides from that, it will also be impossible to use it as a headphone splitter.

In a statement, Belkin made a note outlining that the Lightning connector was specifically for charging and syncing. Nothing really happens whenever one makes an attempt to plug Apple’s Lightning EarPods or dongle into it. In fact what happens is that the iPhone keeps playing audio from the speakers until that particular moment when the headphones get connected to the 3.5mm jack.

That insinuates that some Lightning accessories such as the external microphones will fail to operate with it. In case you happen to be a pro or a musician, it is high time you got used to the fact that using it as an extender for an iPad in a bulky case will prove a difficult affair.
