The launch of P9 smartphone alongside the P9 plus is a new milestome of Huawei and has put the company at the helm of the growing technological trend. The two have unique features the likes of a dual-rear camera setup. Nevertheless, the unique setup would not have in place without the efforts of the legendary camera maker Leica which is the front liner in premium iconic brand in cameras.

According to the Chinese company, the increased need for of a smartphone with photographic capability by consumers is what necessitated the partnership with Leica and it is expected to take away the consumer’s thirst. Well, the collaboration was not only about branding. The two companies are also in consultation about the lenses and image processing technology.

So what about the dual-lens camera? In both P9 and P9 Plus, it sports two 12-megapixel sensors which enable the capturing of light in color by one and the other in monochrome. The laser autofocus systems on the camera setup provide sharp, detailed shots regardless of the light conditions.

P9 has two RAM models 3GB RAM/ 32GB storage and GB RAM/ 64GB storage whose prices vary to EUR 599 and EUR 649 respectively. The pricing for P9 plus is slated at EUR 749.

Leica’s Chief Executive Oliver Kaltner says that they are at the centre of optical excellence globally hence they ought to meet their consumer’s needs. Apparently, Huawei has also showcased a P9 Lite whose hands-on images have been posted on a Russian site tipping some of the innards.

The Huawei P9 Lite features a 5.2-inch display (1080×1920 pixels) with a pixel density of 423ppi. It also sports a 13-megapixel rear camera with LED flash unlike Huawei P9 and P9 Plus as well as an additional 8-megapixel front camera.

Other highlighted features of the Huawei P9 Lite include 16GB storage, 3000mAh battery and in its 2GB and 3GB RAM models it has an expandable storage support via microSD card. Well, the credibility of the information behind the P9 Lite cannot be independently verified hence.

But all said and done Huawei is optimistic that the P9 will create a way in making the company gain ground on market leader in terms of volume.
