The 2015 Emmy awards were held on Saturday night and as usual there was a lot of glam, suspense and most importantly, the winners.

This year’s Emmy awards mark the 67th year since the first Emmy Awards were held. Starting off the list is John Hamm’s much-anticipated win. Hamm has been nominated for an award every year since the Mad Men hit series was launched in 2007. This time, the actor managed to bag the trophy. He was awarded as the most outstanding lead actor in a drama series.

The usual contenders were present especially the top ranking series such as Modern Family, Game of Thrones and others. Game of Thrones managed to get multiple trophies, the first one being the most outstanding drama series. David Nutter from GOT won in the directing category for Outstanding Directing in a series. David Benioff and David Weiss came on top for outstanding writing for a drama series in GOT.

Another winner that dominated the stage was Olive Kitteridge with various wins in different categories.  The show won an award for the most outstanding limited series. The actor, Richard Jenkins took home an award for the most outstanding lead actor in a limited series. Frances McDormand won an award for the most outstanding actor in a limited series for Olive Kitteridge. The most outstanding supporting actor award went to Bill Murray of Olive Kitteridge while Lisa Cholodenko from the same series won an award for the Outstanding Directing for a Limited Series, movie or dramatic special.

The rest of the awards were distributed to other winners from different categories including the comedy category. The Voice won an award for the most outstanding reality show competition. Jeffrey Tambor was awarded for the most outstanding lead actor in a comedy series for Transparent while Julia Louis-Dreyfus from Veep won in the same category for women. Veep also won the award for the most outstanding writing for a comedy series. Tony Hale received the award for the most outstanding supporting actor in a comedy series.  Allison Janney from the hit comedy series Mom won the award for the most outstanding supporting actress in the comedy series category.
