The Dallas Cowboys have a tough season ahead of them after three of its best players. Dez Bryant, DeMarco Murray, and Tony Romo will not be on the pitch this season.
The unfortunate turn of events is the result of injuries in the field for Romo and Bryant. Romo joined the injury list due to a broken collarbone during the second half of their game against the Eagles. He is expected to be out of the field for 6 to 8 weeks to allow for his recovery. He suffered a similar injury back in 2010 and ended up missing ten games. Bryant went out of the game a week earlier after suffering an injury. He will also be out of the game for the rest of the season.
Murray’s stats are not looking good after failing to perform as expected. The Dallas Cowboys have already shut him down. The team now faces the hard task of defending its NFC East title without in-game support from the three players. Romo stated that the game is about adversity, how to handle it and how to approach it as an individual and as a team. He is, therefore, confident that the team can manage to maintain the lead in the absence of the three players.
Terrance Williams, a player for the Cowboys also pointed out that when the coaching staff does not panic, it also reflects on the players because they feel as if things are not as bad as they seem. Murray is the current NLF rushing champion. He has 2 yards rushing on 13 carries during his first game against his former team. He stated that his worry was about winning and not rushing yards and touchdowns. He also added that the team has to find a way to get the job done.
Though this season has not started on a good trend for the Cowboys, they are confident that they can rise to the occasion despite their situation. The situation is also a hard hit for fantasy league players who were depending on the three players.
