Putin Asserts That North Korea’s Provocation Should Be Carefully Considered
Russian president Vladimir Putin while addressing an economic forum on Thursday said that United States could be playing into North Korea’s hands if it will continue ramping up pressure on Pyongyang. According to him, it was counterproductive trying to inflate the military hysteria and it was not going to culminate into anything productive.
Speaking alongside the South Korean President Moon Jae-in and Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe at the Eastern Economic Forum in the far eastern Russian city of Vladivostok, the Russian leader exuded confidence in what he was saying. The other leader in attendance was the Mongolian President Khaltmaa Battulga.
This Russian leader has come out as rather outspoken especially regarding the way the global community should respond to North Korea’s nuclear threats. If it lives up to its word, that it will be its sixth test.
A large number of countries around the globe have condemned North Korea’s intentions. Japan, United States and South Korea have been at the frontline when it comes to pushing for strong sanctions that would punish the Kim Jong Un’s regime. Since he took up leadership in North Korea, the country has had strained relations with the United States and other countries worldwide.
North Korea’s minister of external economic relations attended the forum and gave his statement. He revealed that his country was ready to respond to the various attempts to exert pressure by the U.S clearly showing his great belief in their counter measures.
Kim Yong Jae, who serves in the capacity of the state’s minister opined, “Attempts to use unprecedented aggressive sanctions and pressure to intimidate us and make us reverse our course are a huge mistake. The United States should by all means keep in mind the nuclear status of our country, (which) owns nuclear and hydrogen bombs, and intercontinental ballistic missiles.”
Russia and China have expressed their great opposition to the nuclear test. They are both advocating for more dialogue. Putin thinks that North Korea is deliberately provoking the United States. He advises that the world shouldn’t blindly play to its game.
