The Future Of Apple Airpods May Revolve Around Magnetic Devices To Keep Them In-Ear
It is no secret that the Apple Airpods have been taken on with great enthusiasm from Apple fans. However, at the same time, it is also a well-known fact that all these Apple products, share one common downfall, and that is how easily they slip away from the ear.
However, this is something that the tech giant has been working on, and according to recent patent filings, something that may have just been eradicated based on a new design solution. This solution comes in the form of a magnetic mechanism, which ensures that the headphones cannot fall out of an individual’s ear.
More about the new Apple patent
The reason why this solution is a critical next step for the tech giant is due to the fact that the product itself is great, and due to this the price of the product is high. However, many potential customers refuse to invest in the product, simply due to fears about the pair of headphones slipping out the ear, and falling somewhere inaccessible.
However, the new ear hook design, may not be pretty, but it is expected to be sufficient, in terms of keeping the headphones in-ear. There are rumors, that the patent will be applied in any future Airpod releases.
Although the design of the Airpods will have to fundamentally change to something more beast than beauty, it is expected that this will be a preferred option, over losing a piece of the pair, because it slipped and fell down the drain.
How exactly the magnetic field would be induced
According to the release notes on the patent mechanics for magnetic hooks, where the magnet is attached to the Airpods, as well as the magnet separately in the Airpods, through the magnets being on opposite sides of the ear wall (due to the hook) they will be attracted to each other, and therefore, reduce the risk of the device falling out the listener’s ear.
