The Featuring Of Rihanna And Lupita Nyong’o In A Twitter Made Movie
It has emerged that Rihanna and Lupita Nyong’o are among the celebrities that will feature in a Twitter movie. Initially, the news sounded like just another joke. However, after a dramatic negotiation session, it turned out that the untitled Rihanna and Lupita project, which has been nabbed by Netflix is true. This is a dream come true for Twitter according to Entertainment Weekly.
But how did the concept of the movie come about?
It all began when the singer’s photograph and that of the actress surfaced at a Miu Miu fashion show. The photographs went viral very first of the micro-blogging website, triggering excitement among the duo’s fans. Immediately after, there were all sorts of chants asking the two to have a collaboration of whatever kind.
The project has received a massive amount of buzz on social media and all the way to Hollywood. A post by a Twitter user, which read, “Rihanna looks like she scams rich white men and Lupita is the computer-smart best friend that helps plan the scans,” was cheered the most.
Positive response by the two
The duo’s fans went to the extent of throwing in a request to filmmaker Ava DuVernay to direct the potential duo’s movie. She has previously directed A Wrinkle in Time. They also approached screenwriter Issa Rae requesting her to pen down the movie. Apparently, none of the four women disappointed whatever request was put before them.
Each of them had a positive response and part of Lupita’s response read, I’m down if you are Rihanna” and Rihanna response was: “I’m in Pit’z.”
Reliable sources have it that the game has already begun noting that Rae is already working on the script. She is eyeing to have it produced in 2018. It has also been confirmed that all the original Twitter users who brought the concept of the film will not go uncredited.
All this brings another level of excellence for women in media and there seems there is much more lined up.
