Apple iOS9 Reviews - Why Some Are Scratching Their Heads
Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) recently announced that users can now upgrade from iOS 8 to the new iOS 9 operating system. The new OS is a welcome upgrade to its predecessor that users claim had some bugs and other issues such as battery problems.
The new operating system promises to fix some of those issues as well as offering faster service delivery and improving device performance. iOS 9 is currently available to Apple device users as a downloadable upgrade. iOS users can now download and upgrade from iOS 8 and previous versions at will. The OS will also come preinstalled on new devices coming off Apple’s production line since the OS was launched.
The upgrade is however NOT available to everyone. iOS 9 is only compatible with the iPhone 4S, iPad 2 and their successors. There is a bit of good news for users looking to upgrade to iOS 9. It is less demanding than its predecessor in terms of space because it only requires 1.3GB of space compared to 4.58GB required to install iOS 8.
The small space requirement does not mean that the OS will under deliver. In fact, Apple has gone above and beyond to make sure that the OS provides the best through efficiency and refinement of the interface. Unfortunately, the launch of the new OS was not as smooth as expected. Customers were having a hard time trying to upgrade. An error message would pop up when users engaged in the installation process on their iPhones, iPods and iPads. However, Apple has already fixed the problem.
Apple recently announced that it will not release the new version of the Apple Watch operating system, the watchOS 2. The release was scheduled for Wednesday, but the tech company reversed its decision after finding a bug in the OS during its development.
As for iOS 9, the update is available through iTunes or over-the-air. Those seeking to install the OS via the OTA alternative can click on a software update tab that will automatically guide them through the installation process.
